Duncanville ISD Creates ‘Giving Thanks Countdown’ to Celebrate Teachers, Staff

In the days before Thanksgiving break, district leaders want to send out a huge thank you to everyone who is making this school year a success despite the challenges we are facing.

This expression of gratitude comes in the form of a “Giving Thanks Countdown,” where each day this week on our social media and on the district website we will be recognizing the many employee groups who are working harder than ever to ensure our students are able to continue writing their success stories.

We kicked off our 5-day countdown with our teachers, librarians and counselors. Over the past nine months, our teachers have had to reimagine their jobs. They have adjusted to teaching online and in person under very different circumstances than ever before. And, we know they're putting in longer hours and dealing with more stress. We want our teachers to know we see their efforts, and we are grateful for them.

In addition to the countdown videos and social media posts, every district employee will also receive a token of our appreciation: a long-sleeve district shirt (see below) with our motto for the year ‘One Team, One Mission, One Heart.’ We are asking all of our staff to wear their new shirts to celebrate our unity on Friday.
