Degrees and Certifications:
Cosmetology Instructor License Trade and Industrial Education Grade Level 8-12
Mrs. Zatassney Baker-Mendoza
I am a proud graduate of a high school cosmetology program! I’ve been gifted to be a part of the industry for 12 years. It was in the 5th grade that I found my calling while sitting in Mrs. Reynold’s social studies class. I knew that someday I would become an awesome teacher, just as Mrs. Reynold’s. I started at a young age cutting and styling my baby doll’s hair, once in high school I moved to styling, coloring and cutting my friend’s hair. I was accepted into the cosmetology program as a junior in high school, that’s where I soared and found my true calling. After obtaining my cosmetology license, I enjoyed a rewarding career as a stylist at a high-end salon. After 7 years behind the chair, I enrolled in Paul Mitchell School of Dallas to continue my education through the Student Instructor Program. It was at that moment that I knew I wanted to join my passion for cosmetology and education. Upon graduation, I worked as a part time licensed instructor at Tint School of Hair and Makeup and a PEIMS Specialist for Grand Prairie ISD. I am grateful for the opportunity that Duncanville ISD has provided me, and I am delighted to be a part of the Panther family. I’m so blessed to be able to impact the lives of the DISD students, to pour into their futures, and set them up with a lifelong skill.
