Ms. Lynn Brown

Welcome to my web page.  What a great way to let you learn about me.  Though born in New Jersey, I am definitely a Californian.  I grew up and spent much of my adult years in the Los Angeles area.  I was a "Valley Girl."  I attended college in San Diego and finished up at Cal State University Northridge.  I received my teaching credential including ESL certification from CA at La Verne University.  I worked 2 years in California before relocating to Texas.  I took all my certification tests for teaching ec-8, as well as ESL and GATE certifications. I lived in Houston for 6 years, teaching in Houston ISD and then relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area 4 years ago.  This is my fourth year with Duncanville and it is a terrific district.  I love teaching and hope to continue to do so for many years.  My 4th grade classes have been terrific.  I cannot imagine not having them to teach.

Besides teaching, I read quite a lot.  I also love spending time with my grandkids, ages 19, 8, and 6.  They keep me on my toes.  I actually  moved up to Dallas to be closer to them and their mother, who happens to be my daughter.  I never had thought that we would end up living together.  Life is full of wonderful surpises.  I have traveled to many of the states in the US, and hope to eventually travel outside our borders.  I have 3 grown daughters, 2 who live in Texas and one who lives in Canada.

I always work had for my students, and I am sure that this year will be no different.  They will also have a chance to work hard.  4th grade can be difficult.  It is a giant step from 3rd to 4th.  There are so many new concepts and skills to learn.  It can be slow going at times, but my kids will excel.  I know they will!

I am looking forward to an amazing, super year
