2015 Duncanville ISD Teacher Laptops Rollout
Each teacher in Duncanville ISD will be issued a Toshiba Z20T laptop in the fall of 2015. The Toshiba Z20T offers the power of an enterprise-class laptop with the freedom and convenience of a tablet.
The Toshiba Z20t Ultrabook® offers innovative 2-in-1 versatility in a supremely crafted chassis, along with outstanding battery life and an exceptional handwriting experience.
The Z20t Ultrabook® just happens to be ultra versatile, too. Unlike convertible PCs, it lets your workers detach the display for a true tablet experience, while giving them the traditional clamshell laptop they need to hammer out business emails, crunch numbers, craft proposals and stay productive on their feet—without buying two devices.
The new Z20t Ultrabook® comes with a 12.5" diagonal 10-point touch-enabled display producing crisp, clear Full HD images, while striking an ideal balance between size and portability. Plus, when paired with the advanced Wacom digitizer pen it also affords a superior handwriting experience enhanced by an antiglare coating.
Camping beside power outlets can pose a serious disruption to mobile business, but with the Z20t Ultrabook® those worries will be a thing of the past. This PC offers up to 17 hours in the clamshell mode and 9 hours in the tablet mode.
The Z20t Ultrabook® with a larger touch pad. It also includes a full size keyboard providing a comfortable typing experience
Z20t Ultrabook® has the ports people need—a LAN, RGB and full-size HDMI® ports. And microSD™, Micro HDMI® plus a Micro USB 2.0 port on the tablet; and on the keyboard base two USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.0 port.
As technology advances, the number of laptops that have CD/DVD ROMs are quickly diminishing. The new Toshiba laptop follows suite, opting out of the optical drive inside the machine. An alternative method that staff may use in order to utilize CDs or DVDs is to utilize a portable CD/DVD player. Technology will be purchasing Transcend Extra Slim Portable DVD writers for music teachers as well as a set number to be checked out in each campus' library. This drive is compatible with CD-R/RW, DVD±R, DVD±RW, DVD±R DL, DVD-RAM media. Campuses also have the option of purchasing more of these devices as needed for staff.
