  •  April 2017 Made With Pride In Duncanville Honorees



     Lindsay Fortner (2nd grade teacher) Alexander Elementary nominated by Principal Erin Frye

    • Fortner uses plenty of colorful anchor charts, incorporation of technology, and interactive lessons that engage her students’ whole selves into the lesson. 
    • She makes students feel welcome.
    • You can hear her greet student as they come into her class.
    • There is a positivity and warmth and a smile in every interaction
    • She seeks ways to connect with them and help students grow and mature. 
    • In fact, her students love to help take care of “Gus” the class guinea pig. 
    • Beyond her classroom walls, Ms. Fortner is someone who contributes to the school as a whole. 
    • She helps to lead our Sunshine Committee,
    • She is a major contributor in 2nd grade weekly PLC data and planning sessions
    • She assists with administering the STAAR testing for other grade levels. 
    • Lindsay Fortner is a teacher who is definitely helping the students of Alexander Elementary write their success stories.



    Rebecca Clarke (Special Education Aide) Central Elementary nominated by Principal Sherri Smith

    • Clarke performs her classroom duties professionally and can always be counted on to be prepared and diligent with instruction.
    • In addition, there are many ways that she contributes to the campus as a whole that demonstrate she is Made with Pride.
    • For several years, she has worked as our drive-way monitor -- through heat, rain, snow, or sleet -- she makes sure our students get to the door safely.
    • She monitors and responds to our tardy students in caring ways.
    • Clarke also finds time to prepare certificates and awards for every classroom for our monthly Student of the Month awards and Early Acts character awards.
    • She is a vital member of our school team and we would like to recognize her for all she does.



    R.J. Vigil (3th grade student) Hyman Elementary nominated by Teacher Kate Lagemann.

    • RJ is a kind soul. RJ shows empathy way beyond his years.
    • He's a people person.
    • He is the first person to cheer on his classmates or comfort them when they are upset.
    • He is always the first person to help out his teachers or classmates.
    • He's always wants to know how he can do better.
    • Recently, RJ won the Science Fair for Hyman.
    • He works hard everyday and takes pride in his work.
    • He is a member of the Hyman Student Council and Hyman Choir
