The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.

I am humbly grateful to be the Special Education Inclusion/Resource Teacher here at Hastings Elementary in Duncanville ISD. I am the case manager for grades 2nd - 5th. I am definitely here to inspire each and every student to realize his or her full potential. I am from New Orleans, Louisiana. It was through inspiration from my mother, who is a retired teacher that I believe education is my calling. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Southern University and A&M College and a Masters of Education in School and Human Services Counseling from the University of New Orleans. Prior to calling the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex my home, I relocated from New Orleans, Louisiana due to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I have been in the field of Education for more than a decade. My teaching experience includes all grade levels from Pre-School through 5th grade. My certifications and experiences include English as a Second Language (ESL), Special Education EC-12, and working as a Crisis Counselor. In my spare time I love spending time with my family, Swing Dancing, Chicago Style Stepping, and exploring home improvement projects.
Finally, I feel that if a student does not exhibit growth both educationally and emotionally, then I did not do my job.
