During the 2007 legislative session, Senate Bill 9 was passed to authorize and require background checks for those who have access to students in a public school setting. Individuals requiring a criminal background check include employees, volunteers, substitutes, student teachers, and some contractors.
Duncanville ISD requires background checks for:
- Technology vendors working on school grounds where children gather must complete a background check.
- Background checks are required every school year.
- Please do not submit multiple background checks. Vendors only need one check per year.
- All background checks on file are cleared at the end of the school year.
- New background checks can be submitted August 1.
- Background checks can take up to 5 business days to complete.
The form below (must be fully completed with driver’s license attached) is to request Contractor’s consent to review background check information by fingerprints. If there are not records found, instructions will be emailed for fingerprinting. For assistance, contact Debra Graves at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If there are no fingerprint records found to review, fingerprinting will be required. Listed below are instructions to assist in completing the fingerprinting process. Once fingerprinting is completed, you please return a copy of your receipt to help expedite the approval process to Debra Graves at email@example.com.
Notice to DISD Vendors
Pursuant to Texas Education Code Section 22.083-22.086 Texas public school districts may obtain criminal history records on any persons working where students are present. Be informed and understand that this school district shall obtain criminal history record information.
You may be disqualified from working with this school district if you have been convicted of a felony or any offense involving moral turpitude or for not disclosing any conviction.
This criminal history record search may include local, state and national law enforcement agency records and you hereby expressly release any law enforcement agency, record holder or individual from any and all liability for releasing any and all information these agencies or individuals may provide. If there is a need for further clarification of your identity, you agree to provide additional information including but not limited to, photographs and fingerprints.
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you may review and confirm any negative criminal history data that has been deemed to adversely impact the decision to offer employment. You will be provided with the name, address, and telephone number of the reporting agency as well as the nature and substance of the criminal record information and the source. The review and confirmation must be obtained from the providing agency.
The information entered here will not be used to determine eligibility for working, but will be used solely for the purpose of obtaining criminal history record information.
