Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee

 

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE 

The Duncanville ISD Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee will serve in a temporary advisory capacity to the Board  of Trustees and Administration to:

  • Represent the entire community in the facility planning process 
  • Assist the district in assessing and prioritizing the district’s current and long-term facility needs, including, but not limited to: 
    • Operational efficiency
    • Building age, safety, and condition 
    • Student and program equity
    • Evolving educational delivery and programs
  • Consider the educational needs of all students and align recommendations with the district’s mission, vision and goals 
  • Consider the district’s current financial position and funding methods to develop a recommendation that is fiscally sound
  • Report their findings to the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees which will include recommendations on how to proceed with a long-range facilities plan  

 

The committee will engage in discussions about:
  • Demographic Reports and Enrollment Projections
  • Existing Facility Conditions
  • Operational Efficiency
  • School Finance
  • Bonding Capacity & Impact of a Potential Bond
  • Building Needs, Potential Solutions & Cost Analysis
  • Results of Community Survey
  • Priorities for Duncanville ISD Facilities
