Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee
OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The Duncanville ISD Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee will serve in a temporary advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees and Administration to:
- Represent the entire community in the facility planning process
- Assist the district in assessing and prioritizing the district’s current and long-term facility needs, including, but not limited to:
- Operational efficiency
- Building age, safety, and condition
- Student and program equity
- Evolving educational delivery and programs
- Consider the educational needs of all students and align recommendations with the district’s mission, vision and goals
- Consider the district’s current financial position and funding methods to develop a recommendation that is fiscally sound
- Report their findings to the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees which will include recommendations on how to proceed with a long-range facilities plan
The committee will engage in discussions about:
- Demographic Reports and Enrollment Projections
- Existing Facility Conditions
- Operational Efficiency
- School Finance
- Bonding Capacity & Impact of a Potential Bond
- Building Needs, Potential Solutions & Cost Analysis
- Results of Community Survey
- Priorities for Duncanville ISD Facilities
