Staff COVID-19 Protocols
- General Safety Precautions/Recommendation Statement:
The District is following the CDC guidelines and managing COVID 19 in the same way as flu or other upper respiratory viruses are handled. If you have other questions, please contact your School Nurse or Administrator.
- Additional Safety Precautions or Guidelines/Recommendations that can be implemented:
1. Preventive Measures for general safety and best practices for all:
a. Self- Screening:
i. Employees running a fever of 100.4°F or higher, or feeling ill, should stay at home and should not to
report to work.
ii. Make sure to contact your health provider, if needed, and notify your supervisor regarding your absence.
iii. Once your fever and other symptoms have subsided or not taking fever reducing medicine within 24 hours you may return to work.
b. Handwashing and Hand Sanitizers:
i. To prevent the spread of germs, including COVID-19, Flu, etc. the CDC recommends washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds whenever possible because it reduces the amount of many types of germs and chemicals on hands.
ii. If soap and water are not readily available, using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol can help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.
iii. Properly apply alcohol-based sanitizer by rubbing the gel ore spray over all surfaces of your hands and fingers until your hands are dry.
c. Respiratory Hygiene/Cough Etiquette:
i. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
ii. Use tissues and throw them away.
iii. Wash your hands or use a hand sanitizer every time you touch your mouth or nose.
d. Use of Appropriate Protective Equipment:
i. Use of a mask or face shield on your return to work after being sick is recommendation, but not mandatory.
2. Getting the Vaccine know how you can register for Flu, COVID, RSV vaccines, etc.:
a. Register for Vaccines like – COVID, Flu and/or RSV at this website: Vaccines.gov; or
b. CDC Vaccines and Immunizations for children and adults.
