Welcome to the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees page. As your elected representatives, we are honored to serve our community and are committed to making decisions that put students first. Our role is to provide strong governance, ensure fiscal responsibility, and support the district’s mission of educating all students for success. We work in partnership with families, staff, and community members to create policies that foster academic excellence, equity, and opportunity for every student. As your elected Board of Trustees, we are proud to provide local citizen governance and oversight of Duncanville ISD. Our primary responsibility is to ensure that the educational needs of our community are met with excellence, equity, and integrity. While the state sets the foundation through laws, policies, and regulations, it is our duty to make informed decisions that reflect the values and priorities of the Duncanville community.
Working in partnership with the superintendent, we are committed to:

Hiring, supporting, and evaluating the superintendent

Approving the annual budget and setting the tax rate

Maintaining open communication with our community

What does a school board do?
School boards work together to oversee the school district. As a board, their primary responsibilities include:
- Hire, supervise and evaluate the superintendent
- Set the vision, mission, and strategic goals for the district
- Review, revise and adopt policies
- Establish and Oversee budget
- Serve as community representatives
- Monitor the district’s progress toward goals

What are the qualifications?
- United States Citizen
- 18 years of age or older
- Registered to vote in Duncanville ISD
- Reside in:
a. Texas now and continuously for the last 12 months;
b. Duncanville ISD boundaries now and continuously for the last 6 months - Has not been: a. Convicted of a felony; b. Determined either totally or partially incapacitated by a court
