Welcome to the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees page. As your elected representatives, we are honored to serve our community and are committed to making decisions that put students first. Our role is to provide strong governance, ensure fiscal responsibility, and support the district’s mission of educating all students for success. We work in partnership with families, staff, and community members to create policies that foster academic excellence, equity, and opportunity for every student. Thank you for placing your trust in us—we look forward to continuing our work together to build a brighter future for all students in Duncanville ISD.

As your elected Board of Trustees, we are proud to provide local citizen governance and oversight of Duncanville ISD. Our primary responsibility is to ensure that the educational needs of our community are met with excellence, equity, and integrity. While the state sets the foundation through laws, policies, and regulations, it is our duty to make informed decisions that reflect the values and priorities of the Duncanville community.

Working in partnership with the superintendent, we are committed to:

  • Adopting district goals and priorities and monitoring progress

  • Establishing policies and reviewing them for effectiveness

  • Hiring, supporting, and evaluating the superintendent

  • Approving the annual budget and setting the tax rate

  • Maintaining open communication with our community

We take this responsibility seriously and strive to make decisions that serve the best interests of all students and families in Duncanville ISD. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Feb 21 – Last day to withdraw

April 20 – First Day for Early Voting

April 28 – Last Day to Vote Early

May 2 – Election Day

What does a school board do?

School boards work together to oversee the school district. As a board, their primary responsibilities include:

  • Hire, supervise and evaluate the superintendent
  • Set the vision, mission, and strategic goals for the district
  • Review, revise and adopt policies
  • Establish and Oversee budget
  • Serve as community representatives
  • Monitor the district’s progress toward goals

Which seats are up for election?

  • Place 4 & 5

What are the qualifications?

  • United States Citizen
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Registered to vote in Duncanville ISD
  • Reside in:
    a. Texas now and continuously for the last 12 months;
    b. Duncanville ISD boundaries now and continuously for the last 6 months
  • Has not been: a.     Convicted of a felony; b.     Determined either totally or partially incapacitated by a court
