Duncanville High School will host a young men’s leadership training in partnership with Frank Hallum, Director of the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation and Mentoring Program for Young Men. This is the first time in the history of the program that the organization is partnering with a high school to select young men to attend his annual mentorship camp.
One hundred young men chosen from Duncanville High School will spend the weekend of November 11 and 12 learning about leadership, the importance of education and other life skills from community leaders. The program is sponsored by FELA (Future Entrepreneurs Leadership Academy) which partners with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation. The weekend of mentoring also includes a separate session for the mothers of the 100 young men chosen to participate.
Ten of the young men from Duncanville will be chosen to attend the Steve Harvey Mentoring Program’s national camp next summer.
The mission of the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation is to provide outreach to fatherless youth by promoting educational enrichment, one-on-one mentoring and global service initiatives that will cultivate the next generation of responsible leaders.
