DHS Runner Ranked 3rd in Nation, Competes in Junior Olympics

While many students clocked hours at a part time job, Duncanville High School junior Isaiah Price diligently clocked his running time as he strived to increase his speed.

Price is currently ranked third in the nation in the American Athletic Union 3000-meter run. He will be competing in that race and the 1500-meter this week at the Junior Olympics in Detroit.

"Isaiah Price is a really incredible individual," said DHS Head Cross Country Coach Leisa Reed. "He is one of the most hardworking and dedicated student athletes I've had the privilege to coach."

In addition to competing in the Junior Olympics, Isaiah also has specific goals for his running season this fall, according to the Duncanville HIgh School online publication, Panther Prints.

“I have been training all summer in hopes of being the next varsity district champion so I can have a banner in the cross country hall with my name on it,” Price said.
