“Made with Pride in Duncanville” Honorees for March Recognized

Each month, Duncanville ISD recognizes a student, teacher and staff member who exemplify what it means to be “Made with Pride in Duncanville.” All three honorees receive a gift bag, a surprise visit from district leaders and are featured in a video. They are also invited to attend the Duncanville ISD Board meeting where they are recognized for this honor.

This month’s Made with Pride in Duncanville honorees include: student, Gabrielle Goodgames; teacher, Tennille Jones; and staff member, Elizabeth Armendariz.

Gabrielle Goodgames is a sixth grader at the STEAM Academy at Kennemer Middle School. She is a responsible, motivated and passionate student who went above and beyond for her STEAM Academy’s Shark Tank and District Science Fair submissions. The events sparked a fire inside her to create her small business Pawsome Pamper Kits, a monthly dog subscription box that includes homemade treats, soothing balms, toys and more. At the district Science Fair, Gabby wore a branded T-shirt to advertise her new company and has also created a website to sell her customizable boxes. Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to present her kits to the Dallas Entrepreneur Center and the Southwest Airlines Innovation Team.

Tennille Jones is an eighth grade social studies teacher at Reed Middle School who wears many hats. Ms. Jones serves as a department chair, a mentor teacher and instructional support coach. She is also a member of multiple campus leadership groups and is always willing to volunteer for anything that’s needed on her campus. Ms. Jones strives to provide quality education in a safe, productive and engaged environment and is a part of the school’s Instructional Leadership Academy. Nominated by her principal Bryan Byrd, he said the impact she has made on the campus cannot be measured.

Elizabeth Armendariz is a secretary at Hastings Elementary. Ms. Armendariz received numerous nominations because of her dedication to making her school run efficiently and organized. Her fellow coworkers say she is caring, resourceful and immensely valuable to their school. Ms. Armendariz is known for being part of extracurricular activities before, during and after school and celebrating teachers and students as often as possible. She is always there for the staff, students and parents who come to the campus and has a heart of gold.
