More than 450 graduating seniors donned their caps and gowns to visit Duncanville ISD’s nine elementary schools last week. For some of the students, this was an opportunity to visit their own elementary school and to see former teachers and principals.
Hastings music teacher Robin O’Bier, herself a Hastings Elementary School alumnus, spent a few minutes reconnecting with some of her former students.
“It was fun hearing their reactions to each other on how much they had changed, but in many ways they were just as I remembered,” O’Bier said. “We will have to watch and see what great achievements all of our students have in store for them. They could be your next boss.”
The ‘Senior Walk’ tradition is now in its second year in Duncanville. The program is a benefit for seniors who get to show off their accomplishments and for the younger students who receive encouragement to study hard and fulfill their dreams.
