Superintendent Message - Grading Guidelines

Duncanville ISD family – As we prepare to launch the next phase of our Learning At Home plan with Google Classroom instruction beginning Monday, I want to provide you with more specifics on the grading process.

Students will receive assignments from their teachers and grades will be given for all grade levels, except Prekindergarten and Kindergarten since they are graded based on progress shown. We’re requiring students to submit work, whether that’s online or through instructional packets.

I recognize this is a challenging time for our families and it is unreasonable to expect students to perform as if we were in a normal school environment.  The support for students will differ in each household, along with access to technology. All of these variables were taken into consideration when establishing the grading guidelines.

By working together and providing students with structure and creating a new normal with distance learning, we are doing what’s best for students. To summarize school expectations, we want students to complete work assignments and give us their best.

Below is a grading guideline chart that reflects the process we will use for the remainder of the school year. Thank you again for your patience and partnership.
