Dr. Crystal Rentz is Duncanville ISD’s new Director of Strategic Initiatives. She moves to the position after four years as the district’s Director of Innovation. As Director of Strategic Initiatives, Dr. Rentz will lead efforts to deploy, align and track the district's improvement and strategic plans. She will provide support with district strategic initiatives including deployment plans and data impact tracking.
In her previous role, Dr. Rentz was instrumental in building an infrastructure for new and future choice programs in the district. Under her leadership, choice programs were added at Duncanville High School, all three middle schools, and this year, at the elementary level with Acton Leadership Academy.
In addition to her 20 years in education in Texas, Dr. Rentz has traveled the world teaching English as a second language (ESL). She taught in China, Rwanda, the Philippines, and Burkina Faso, West Africa.
Dr. Rentz earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Dallas Baptist University. She received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. Most recently, Dr. Rentz earned her Doctor of Education in Education Administration from the University of Texas.
