New Assistant Principals Have Close Ties to District

Bridney Allen

Bridney Allen is now an assistant principal at Daniel Intermediate School. She most recently was employed by the district as a teacher at the Collegiate Academy before becoming a Principal Fellow for the 2019-2020 school year. The program was designed to grow leaders from within the district by allowing those chosen to spend a year learning from a current principal while serving on that campus. Ms. Allen’s degrees include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University, a Master of Arts in teaching from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University.

Olish Allen

Olish Allen will serve as an assistant principal at Reed Middle School. Most recently Mr. Allen was a Principal Fellow following 17 years of teaching math at Byrd Middle School. He was named District Teacher of the Year in 2017. Mr. Allen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University and later received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University.

Jacob Ivery

Jacoby Ivery is the new assistant principal at Merrifield Elementary School. In his previous employment, Mr. Ivery served as an elementary interventionist and curriculum developer. Mr. Ivery graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and English from Dallas Baptist University. He received his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Dallas Baptist University and recently completed his Principal Certification.

Karmin Lane

Karmin Lane is the new assistant principal at Alexander Elementary School. Ms. Lane is a graduate of Duncanville High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University - Commerce, Master of Education from Concordia University and completed her Principal Certification.

Napoleon Leiva

Napoleon Leiva will join a staff of assistant principals at Duncanville High School. Mr. Leiva was a 6th grade bilingual teacher at Hardin Intermediate School before becoming a Principal Fellow for the 2019-2020 school year. Mr. Leiva received a Bachelor of Arts in Art/Sculpture and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University.

Candace Wilson

Candace Wilson will serve as assistant principal at Acton Elementary School. Wilson is a graduate of Duncanville High School and has worked for the district for eight years – most recently as a Teacher Specialist. Ms. Wilson received a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University - Commerce, Master of Education in Reading from Texas A&M University – Commerce and her Principal Certification from Lamar University.
