Career & Technical Education Endorsements
The Texas Legislature in 2013 made substantial changes to the state’s CTE program, among other programs and accountability systems, which we refer to as House Bill 5. Due to House Bill 5, students are expected to pursue an endorsement in a specific area. There are five areas recognized by the state. They are:
- Arts & Humanities
- Business & Industry
- Multi-disciplinary studies
- Public Services
- STEM
The Arts & Humanities and the Multi-disciplinary studies endorsements are not included in the Duncanville ISD Career and Technical Education program’s endorsements. We have included information regarding those endorsements but our focus is on the three endorsements that are contained within the CTE program which are:
- Business & Industry
- Public Services
- STEM
