Each month, Duncanville ISD honors a student, staff member, and teacher who go above and beyond. They are chosen from nominations submitted by coworkers, classmates, or community members. These individuals reflect the excellence and pride of our district, and they are Made with Pride in Duncanville.
Teacher
Andrea Adams is an exceptional resource math teacher at Duncanville High School who exemplifies dedication, positivity, and support in all that she does. Known for her patience and accuracy, Andrea has a unique ability to connect with her students, earning their respect and admiration. Her calm and encouraging approach makes her a favorite among her students, who thrive under her guidance. As a colleague, Andrea stands out for her reliability and efficiency, often being one of the first to complete any assigned tasks and offering valuable assistance to others. Her willingness to help fellow teachers understand and navigate paperwork further highlights her teamwork and commitment to the success of the entire staff. Rarely absent from school, Andrea is dependable and a consistent presence in the classroom, always striving to make a positive impact on her students and the school community as a whole.
Student
Zion Fuqua, a senior at Duncanville High School, has been recognized across his campus for his exceptional leadership, musical talent, and commitment to service. As the Choir President and a three-time Texas All-State Choir member, Zion exemplifies excellence both in and out of the classroom. He has served as a section leader for the A Cappella Choir, stepping up during times of transition to keep the group focused, motivated, and positive. Zion’s quiet leadership and servant’s heart have made a lasting impact on his peers, always supporting and encouraging others to succeed. In addition to his musical achievements, Zion is an active worship leader and Sunday school teacher at his church, and he ranks in the top 10% of his class academically. Zion plans to pursue a career in commercial music, with aspirations to attend the University of North Texas. Zion's dedication, talent, and positive attitude make him a deserving recipient of the Made With Pride honor, embodying the values Duncanville ISD strives to instill in its students.
Staff
Evan Dahl, is a standout example of what it means to Lead with Impact" in Duncanville ISD. As a dedicated Technology Specialist, he consistently goes above and beyond to support the district’s leadership team and ensure smooth operations. Whether assisting with monthly board meetings or providing tech support in critical moments, Evan is a reliable and solution-oriented resource. His commitment was recently demonstrated when he showed up in the driving rain to help resolve a last-minute technical issue just minutes before an important TEAMS meeting. Thanks to his expertise, the meeting proceeded without a hitch. Evan also played a key role in the successful installation of the new video and audio system in the Boardroom, working tirelessly with the vendor to ensure everything was set up seamlessly, allowing the district to live-stream board meetings. His quiet demeanor and readiness to serve make him an invaluable asset, and his behind-the-scenes contributions significantly enhance the excellence that defines Duncanville ISD.
