Nutrition Services

Our Mission
The Mission of the Duncanville ISD Child Nutrition Department is to provide the most nutritious, appetizing, and affordable meals possible to our students throughout the district. We strive for optimum customer service and food safety while adhering to state and federal guidelines. We believe that good nutrition is the key to learning, and every child has the right to a nutritious breakfast and lunch at the lowest possible price.
The Breakfast and Lunch Programs provide nutritious meals for growing children. Breakfast is available at all schools at "no cost," and all district students may purchase a variety of hot lunch selections. Our breakfast meal provides one-quarter of children's recommended dietary allowance (RDA), and lunch offers one-third of the RDA. The Child Nutrition Department has actively taken steps to reduce the fat content of school meals to 30 percent or less, as recommended in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
The administrative team serving our customers has successfully completed state and nationally recognized certification classes in food safety, food systems management, and nutrition. Additionally, the Child Nutrition Department has been nationally recognized for its exceptional work in feeding students during an Administrative Review (AR) conducted by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
