Bus Ridership and How to use your Bus Pass

Ridership 

❖ All Duncanville ISD scholars wishing to ride the bus to school and home will be required to check the transportation needed box in SkyWard registration and to download the free StopFinder Parent Engagement App available from the Google Play and Apple App Stores 

❖ Scholars will not be permitted to ride without registering 

Bus Passes 

❖ Scholars will be required to wear and present their Bus Pass to ride the bus 

❖ Students can begin utilizing their Bus Pass for loading and departing the bus upon issue. 

❖ The following guidelines will fully take effect starting 25 Aug 2025. 

Boarding the Bus 

❖ With bus pass ➢ Scholars must have their bus pass on a lanyard, which must be visible at all times. 

❖ Scholars must scan their bus pass with the RFID reader located in the step-well area of the bus. 

❖ Driver will verify that the scholar is approved to ride via the tablet. 

❖ Without a bus pass ➢ If the scholar does not have a bus pass the driver will issue a temporary bus pass and the driver will manually enter the scholar by their name or i.d. number and the scholar will be allowed to board the bus after verifying rider eligibility. 

■ The scholar will receive a copy of the temporary pass and transportation will contact the guardian regarding the bus pass guidelines and how to order a replacement bus pass 

➢ Drivers/Monitors must consult their supervisor/dispatcher before denying transportation to any scholar at any time. 

Exiting the Bus 

❖ With badge ➢ Scholars must have badges on a lanyard, which must be visible at all times. 

➢ Scholar will use the badge scanner to show they have exited the bus 

➢ The driver will be notified via the tablet if the stop is the assigned stop for the scholar 

❖ Without badge ➢ Temporary bus passes will be required to board the bus for pm runs 

➢ Bus driver will manually disembark the scholar indicating where the scholar exited the bus and collect the temporary badge 

Scholars will be permitted to use a temporary bus pass for two (2) consecutive days before being required to purchase a replacement bus pass. Replacement bus passes are $5.00 and are only available from the “Order Replacement Bus Pass” tab on the transportation web page 

Lost Bus Passes 

❖ Bus Passes will be required for all scholars boarding on or off the bus. 

❖ Students with missing iBus Passes ➢ Student will be allowed on the bus provided they have registered for transportation and our routed for transportation 

➢ Bus driver/monitor will onboard them in manually using the scholars student 

➢ Parents/Guardians will be notified daily of scholars failure to produce Bus Pass 

➢ The bus driver will provide a temporary pass for the scholar. ■ Temporary bus passes will include the scholars name, identification number 

❖ Students with two (2) consecutive days without an RFID badge will not be permitted to ride until a replace Bus Pass is purchased 

❖ Replacement bus passes are $5.00 and are only available from the “Order Replacement Bus Pass” tab on the transportation web page.
