If you are at  home - come to the bus stop as usual - our team will board you using your student id number.

If you are at school - you must have a temporary bus pass with your name, id number and a campus administrator signature to board the bus or:

You must obtain a replacement badge from your campus office or attendance clerk.

3 Reasons Why We Require Bus Passes

1. Enhanced Security and Safety:
   • Access Control: Bus Passes help control who has access to ride buses. It's helpful to know that someone can show their Bus Pass to prove that they are supposed to be on the bus.
   • Daily Interactions: Bus Passes help facilitate more personable and positive exchanges during faculty to scholar and scholar to scholar interactions.  Scholars feel seen, identifiable, and more approachable.
   • Emergency Situations: In case of an emergency, a Bus Pass will help quickly identify scholars and staff, ensuring everyone is accounted for and allowing for a more efficient response.
2. Promoting Accountability and Discipline:
   • Behavior Management: Having scholars wear a Bus Pass promotes a sense of responsibility and accountability, as they are constantly reminded that they are representatives of their family and their school. This can lead to improved behavior and a more disciplined school environment.
3. Streamlining Administrative Processes:
   • Managing Bus Ridership: Bus Passes have been integrated with technology to identify scholars registered to ride the school bus, ensuring only authorized scholars have access to transportation services.  Additionally, the StopFinder App allows parents/guardians access to their scholars’ bus location as well as when and where their scholar boards and disembarks the bus. Offering a sense of peace and assurance their scholar is in the right place, 
   • Personalized Services: Bus Passes often contain important information about the student, such as grade level and special needs, allowing staff to provide more personalized and efficient services tailored to each student's requirements.

1. Parents or guardians shall be responsible and accountable for the conduct and safety of their children at all times prior to the arrival and after the departure of the school bus at the assigned school bus stop. SAFE RIDE
2. Have your child at the bus stop five-ten minutes prior to scheduled pick-up time.
3. If possible, teach your child their full name, home address, and telephone number where an adult family member may be contacted in an emergency.
4. Review the School Bus Safety Rules with your child.
5. Remind students to watch for siblings at bus loading or unloading times, and encourage them to notify the bus driver of any concerns of a sibling not loading the bus, or getting off at the appropriate stop.

1. In the event you are unable to be home when your child arrives, arrange an alternate plan with your child: where to go, a hidden key, talk to a neighbor, etc. Careful planning for the unexpected can greatly reduce your child's anxieties!
2. Be at the bus stop five minutes before the bus is scheduled to drop off your elementary aged child(ren).
3. All transportation guidelines found under the SAFE RIDE tab on the main Transportation page apply to all grade levels including Kindergarten. 
4. Kindergarten scholars must have a parent, approved adult, or sibling present at the bus stop for the kindergarten scholar to be released from the bus.  If no adult or sibling is present, or if the parent or approved adult(s) cannot be contacted, the scholar(s) will remain on the bus and be brought to the Transportation facility at 407 Crankshaft for pickup once the bus has completed its route.

All students are expected to follow the bus safety rules including swiping their assigned student I.D. when entering/exiting the bus for their own safety and safety of others. Please review all of the guidelines under the SAFE RIDE tab on the main transportation page.

The bus driver will discuss the safety infraction with the student.

The driver may elect to report the safety infraction to the Transportation Student Management Supervisor.

The Transportation Student Management Supervisor makes the decision of what disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the guidelines listed in the SAFE RIDE

1. We determine the placement of bus stops based on:
   1. Scholar safety
   2. Demographic information
   3. Walking distance to stop
   4. Number of students riding the bus in the area
   5. Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines
2. Bus routes are designed to promote scholar safety while balancing stop pick-up time with on-time arrival for campus bell times.
3. Elementary scholars may be required to walk up to .2 miles.
4. Intermediate scholars may be required to walk up to .5 miles.
5. Middle and high school scholars may be required to walk up to .7 miles
6. Bus routes are designed to limit scholar ride time to no more than 50 minutes one-way if at all possible; however, most scholars ride under 40 minutes one-way
7. Bus stops may change from year to year since all routes are designed for the scholars who are registered to ride each school year.
