Panorama Survey Letter
Dear Duncanville ISD Family,
We thank you for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. This school year, we are continuing the work to expand our social-emotional learning (SEL) support and skills within our students. Beginning September 12th-30th, students will participate in an online survey to assess their SEL skills. From the results of these surveys, we will learn ways that we can provide support and guidance to enhance SEL skills within our students.
We will be asking students to reflect on their mindsets and approaches to learning via this online survey that will be completed here at school. The survey shouldn’t take more than 15-20 minutes for a student to complete.
K-2 Teachers
We ask that you take this survey on behalf of each of your K-2 students. The survey asks three questions and should take no longer than 2 minutes to complete per student. We will ask you to reflect on students’ mindsets and approaches to learning via this online survey. By September 12th, you will receive an email directly from Panorama that will give you access to the online surveys you will take.
The survey content will ask students and K-2 teachers to reflect on the following topics:
We ask that all of our students and our K-2 teachers participate in the surveys, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. If a student or K-2 teacher doesn’t feel they have enough information to answer a question, they can skip the item altogether.
We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys. The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential; however, responses that reveal a student may be in danger or distress will result in our counselors and/or administrators following up with that student to ensure the student’s safety.
Families can opt out of the survey by completing the form linked here. If you have questions about the SEL survey, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Duncanville ISD Counseling Department
