Message From Chief Geron
Welcome to the Duncanville ISD Police Department. I’m Chief Max Geron, and it’s my privilege to lead a team committed to the safety, security, and support of every student, staff member, and family in our district. Our mission drives us: we exist to provide an environment where our school community can truly thrive, serving with professionalism, integrity, and compassion as we build trust through proactive policing, meaningful engagement, and an unwavering focus on well-being.
Our vision keeps us moving forward. We strive to be a trusted ally in education that embraces trauma-informed practices, champions officer wellness, and nurtures genuine partnerships across Duncanville ISD. By holding ourselves to 21st-century policing standards and procedural justice, we strive to make every interaction fair, transparent, and respectful. In practice, that means listening first, acting with clarity, and treating everyone, students, educators, families, and colleagues as partners in safety.
Over more than three decades in law enforcement, I’ve learned that clear policies, strong community bonds, and relentless ownership of our outcomes are the keys to lasting trust. Those lessons shape our strategic goals today:
- TPCA Accreditation
We’re completing a comprehensive policy review and gap analysis to position us for Texas Police Chiefs Association recognition. - Seamless School Security
We’re refining policies and procedures so roles and responsibilities are crystal clear for sworn officers and non-sworn professionals. - Officer Wellness & Resilience
Promoting peer-support networks, brain-healthy programs, and fitness initiatives to keep our team mentally and physically strong. - Technology & Equipment
We’re identifying and deploying innovative tools that enhance safety, streamline operations, and boost productivity. - Community Trust Metrics
We’re conducting ongoing surveys and listening sessions with students, faculty, staff, and parents to measure trust and guide continuous improvement.
If you’re a student here, know that your voice matters. Reach out to any of our officers or drop by a campus office or the police department headquarters with your ideas, concerns, or even to say hello. We’re here to listen and to support you.
If you’re the parent of a student, we welcome your perspective. Please share feedback through parent-teacher organizations and surveys, or contact us directly. Your insight helps us keep our schools safe and nurturing.
If you want to join a team striving to be the gold standard in its field, explore our career opportunities. We seek dedicated professionals who embody our values. Together, we’ll set the pace for school-based policing nationwide.
These priorities and invitations reflect our moral compass, integrity, respect, empathy, innovation, and ownership. We own our actions, learn from every outcome, and celebrate our successes together. I welcome your ideas, questions, and feedback as we work hand-in-hand to keep Duncanville ISD safe, inclusive, and resilient.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Respectfully,
Chief Max Geron
