Professional Development

The mission of the Duncanville ISD Professional Development Department is to provide meaningful professional learning opportunities to ensure that all educators continue to learn, adapt, and implement best practices for teaching and learning. The information age necessitates that educators stay current on tools for accessing information, communicating, and collaborating in a global society. Societal factors require ongoing awareness and purposeful planning and instruction to develop social-emotional skills. As a professional learning community, Duncanville ISD is committed to studying curriculum standards and aligning instruction and assessment in such a way that engages students in life-long habits for success. The Professional Development Department seeks to create a variety of learning opportunities that motivate and inspire our staff to love and excel in the educational profession. These opportunities include:

  • District Professional Development Days
  • Campus Design Days
  • Professional Learning Communities
  • Book Studies
  • Mentor Program
  • Curriculum Work Groups
