Ridership

Identification Badges

  • Scholars will not be permitted to ride without registering.

  • Scholars will be required to wear and present their identification badge to ride the bus
    Students can begin utilizing their ID badge for loading and departing the bus.  The following guidelines will fully take effect starting on the 10th day of school, which is August 27th.

Boarding the Bus

  • With badge
    • Scholars must have badges on a lanyard, which must be visible at all times. 
    • Scholars must scan their badge with the RFID reader located in the step-well area of the bus.
    • Driver will verify that the scholar is approved to ride via the tablet.
  • Without badge at bus stop
    • If the scholar does not have a badge before school, the driver will manually enter the scholar by their name or i.d. number and the scholar will be allowed to board the bus after verifying the campus they attend. The driver will kindly remind him/her that they must have a badge to board the bus. Scholars will not be left at the AM bus stop if he/she does not have a badge.
  • Without a badge at the campus
    • If a scholar does not have a badge after school, he/she must obtain a temporary bus pass from the campus office before coming to the bus to board.
    • Scholars arriving at the bus for PM routes without a badge or temporary badge will be required to obtain one or the other before boarding the bus.
    • Drivers/Monitors must consult their supervisor/dispatcher before denying transportation to any scholar at any time.

Scholars will be permitted to use a temporary badge for three (3) consecutive days before being required to purchase a replacement badge.  Replacement badges are available from the campus office/registrar/attendance clerk.

Lost Badges

  • ID Badges will be required for all students boarding on or off the bus.  
  • Students with missing id badges
    • Student will be allowed on the bus provided they have registered for transportation and our routed for transportation
    • Bus driver/monitor will onboard them in manually using the scholars student id number
    • For students in Grades KG-6th, the transportation department will notify the campus which students did not have a badge during the morning route
    • For students in Grades 7th - 12th, the transportation department will remind students they will need a temporary badge or RFID badge to board the bus in the PM.  
  • The campus will provide a temporary pass for the scholar.
    • Temporary bus passes will include the scholars name, identification number and the signature of a campus administrator
  • Students with 3 consecutive days or more without an RFID badge will be required to purchase a new one
  • Replacement badges are $3.00 and are available from your campus office or attendance clerk.
