 UPDATED ONLINE LEARNING

Parents/Guardians -

I would like to first start by sharing how much I miss seeing your child everyday in school. We are definitely traveling new roads and, although I may not get to work with your child face-to-face, my goal is to continue to provide each student with a meaningful academic experience and continue to support them in their learning at home.

Our district has worked diligently over the past week to put together resources and activities to support student success. A website has been created to guide you in working with your child. The website is available at the following link: https://sites.google.com/duncanvilleisd.org/learning-at-home/home. I encourage you to utilize these resources and engage your child in daily learning activities between now and March 27th.

Beginning March 30, 2020, I will provide lessons to reinforce the concepts we have learned this year to ensure your child is fully prepared for all the FAST Math, FAST Science and FAST Reading classes. The goal is to provide lessons digitally, however I recognize not all of my students have access to reliable technology. Therefore, to create personalized lessons based on your child’s access, I am asking parents to complete the following survey.  It starts with you clicking this link and taking the survey by the end of this week.

The lessons I am providing will be graded based on accuracy. The grading guidelines for the 4th 9 weeks grading period have been outlined on the parent website along with the parent and student responsibilities.

In order for your child to fully engage in the lessons and be successful in their work, they will also need the following resources:

  • access to Google Classroom
  • Google Classroom class code :
  • FAST Reading: trgcqef
  • FAST Math: k7yc4b
  • FAST Science: uqao3v2
  • access to ClassLink via the DuncanvilleISD website
  • If you haven’t already, please sign up for REMIND 101 that I sent out on Monday since that will be a way that we can communicate with each other @d7g7h3

Throughout this time of uncertainty, it is my goal to be here as a resource for you and your child. I will be sending out weekly communications through Skyward.  To receive these communications, you will need to ensure accuracy of information provided in Skyward. You may also find information on my website at Duncanvilleisd.org or you can contact me directly at jwarner@duncanvilleisd.org.

My virtual office are 9:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and partnership during this time. We are all learning together but please know, your child is my top priority. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Sincerely,

 MS. WARNER
