Ms. Lancaster-SPED CTE-D
My name is Ms. Lancaster and I am starting my 36th year in education. I spent 9 years as a Special Ed Paraprofessional working in various classrooms in 1-9 grade. In 1992, I graduated from Dallas Baptist University and joined the first Region 10 Alternative Certification class. I spent the next 17 years teaching Behavior Adjustment and Life Skills at Reed Middle School. After 4 years at Byrd Middle School teaching FAST Special Ed, I “graduated” to Duncanville High School. I am starting my 6th year as a FAST Special Ed Teacher, helping prepare students for life after school. This year I am proud to be one of the teachers for our new CTE-D classes for our FAST students. CTE-D stands for Career and Technical classes for students with a disability. I am also the Assistant Coach for the Duncanville Sparklers Cheer Team, DHS's inclusive cheerleading squad!
I have 2 grandkids, 18 and 16, who live in Cedar Hill. I have a daughter who is an Occupational Therapist and a disabled son who was a door greeter at Wal Mart for over 19 years. I have a 4 year old Dachshund named "Lil" Dude Ranger who keeps me entertained!
I love what I am doing at DHS!! I love being able to make a difference in my students’ lives as they prepare to leave school and start their next journey. I look forward to teaching the CTE-D classes and exposing students to the world of employment. It is very rewarding!!!
