Mrs. Nohemi Salazar

Welcome!! My name is Nohemi Salazar and I am the reading center teacher at Acton Elementary. In the reading center, the main purpose of reading intervention is to improve students’ reading by helping increase their decoding, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. “Great readers are made; they are not born”. My goal is to help children learn how to read, become great readers and develop a love for books.

Ever since I was a little kid, I spent time playing “teacher”. I fell in love with everything about teaching as I grew up. I went to school and follow my passion to teach.  I graduated from Universidad Valle Continental Mexico with a BA in Education Sciences with emphasis in Pedagogy.   This is my 16th year of teaching, and honestly I’ve enjoyed every year! Over the years I’ve thought Pre-K, Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. and 4th grade. For the last 10 years I have worked in Dallas ISD and Irving ISD as a Bilingual Teacher.  I am very excited to be part of the Acton Family!! I am looking forward to a great and successful year!!

If you have any questions or ever need to contact me, please do not hesitate to call me or email me.
