My name is Ms. Bowens, your Principal.  I was born in Germany and grew up in Oklahoma.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Oklahoma State University.  I later decided to pursue my Principal Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington. 

I taught 1^st and 2^nd grade in Oklahoma before moving to Texas.  Since being in Texas, I have taught 5^th grade and served as an Instructional Specialist and Assistant Principal all for Duncanville ISD.  

I enjoy traveling, baking and spending time with my family and friends.  I am very excited to be here at Acton Elementary School.  I have enjoyed getting to know the students, staff and parents.  I look forward to our continued collaboration in academic excellence for the students of Acton Elementary School.
