Principal/Assistant Principal of the Year Award Canceled

This was to be the inaugural year for Duncanville ISD to celebrate its principals and assistant principals of the year. We would like to thank those who participated in the early phases of the process and sought to recognize excellence in our campus leaders.

It is with regret that we have to inform you we have decided to postpone the honor until next year.

The timing of the global pandemic and the district’s subsequent shut down makes it impossible for our panel to observe and evaluate nominated administrators at work on their respective campuses.

To ensure all honorees are subject to the same process and to preserve continuity from year to year, we want to start fresh by launching this award next school year.

Duncanville Independent School District launched a new program in 2019-2020 recognizing outstanding school leaders who go beyond the day-to-day demands of their position to create an exceptional educational environment. A Principal of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year will be selected and announced at the annual Employee Appreciation Event in May.

Each Principal of the Year or Assistant Principal of the Year nomination must include a committee with a student, teacher, support staff member, parent and community member. If you have questions about the process, call 972-708-2049.
