Duncanville High School Track Teams had major victories in track last weekend in Austin.
According to the University Interscholastic League, the Panthers set a new national record. The 4×200-meter relay team earned GOLD, running a new USA High School National Record of (1:22.25) - eclipsing the old record by a second. Team members Brayden Williams, Caden Durham, Ayson Theus, and Dakorien Moore make up the gold-winning team.
The Pannterettes also won big in Austin, defending their team state championship title in girls. Gabrielle Goodgames, Ashley Lister, Aaliyah Gipson, and Sanyah Keetonin won the gold for the Girls' 4x100 6A Final, No. 1 time in the nation for 2024, the fourth-best time in state history, and tying for eighth-best all-time nationally. Winning also the gold in the 4×200-meter relay, running in 1:35.67, the second-best time in the nation this year, contributing to the win of their overall title.
There were other victories for DHS Panthers and Pantherettes. De'Kayla Simpson claimed the crown as the 400-meter queen, completing her lap in 53.64, tying for the 13th-best time nationally this season.
In the boys' 4×100-meter relay, Keelon Russell, Jason Jeffries, Timothy Price, and
Dakorien Moore took 2nd place, running the third-fastest time in USA High School History.

Pilar Garcia, Ashley Lister, Chloe Mann, and De'Kayla Simpson took 3rd in the 4×400-meter relay.
Caden Durham and Brayden Williams placed 3rd and 6th in the 100-meter race.
Ashley Lister and Dakorien Moore both placed 5th place in the long jump. Alana Butler threw a best throw of 147'-9," earning 4th place.
