January is School Board Recognition Month. Like other school districts, we observe this distinction in January, but the Duncanville ISD staff and community prioritize celebrating them throughout the school year.
When the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees was awarded the title of Region 10 Outstanding School Board this summer, we celebrated their high achievement. Then when the school board was named one of the top 5 Honor Boards in the state of Texas a few months later, we showed our appreciation.
In honor of School Board Recognition Month, school marquees have “thank you” messages posted and each school displayed artwork at the January school board meeting. In addition, a special video was played at the school board meeting in which students expressed their gratitude for the trustees and all their personal sacrifices. Click here to view the video.
During the meeting, Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith presented the school board members with a crystal award and photo book commemorating their honors and achievements throughout this school year. The school board is comprised of seven leaders who were elected by Duncanville ISD voters and remain committed to supporting students and staff. Their vision and teamwork makes it possible for the district to remain focused on #UnstoppableExcellence.
