District Gears Up for First Day of School on Aug. 8
Duncanville ISD is looking forward to welcoming its students on Monday, Aug. 8. The district has outlined processes and protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all staff and students.
Campuses will continue to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms through the campus clinics and school nurses. Rapid testing for COVID-19 will continue to be available for all district employees during the 2022-2023 school year.
Duncanville ISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith began his report with information about upcoming district events. He announced the New Teacher Orientation would be held on July 20-22, 2022at the new Teaching and Learning Center. The three-day event welcomes teachers new to the profession and those new to the district. The goal is to introduce them to the culture and vision of Duncanville ISD.
Annually, we launch our school year with a staff convocation. This year’s theme is #Dville All In. We realize that when we work TOGETHER, We All WIN!! Several of our student groups will be on hand to help energize the staff. Our featured speaker is a comedian, Eddie B. He’s well known for turning education matters into fun and light-hearted moments of laughter.
Convocation will be held on Wednesday, August 3. Doors to the Sandra Meadows Arena will open at 8:15 am with a vendor fair, and the main event begins at 9:15 am. Dr. Smith shared the dates of this year’s Meet-the-Teacher Nights for each grade band and encouraged everyone to come out.
