Defending Basketball Champs Take State Title Again
Boys Win State Championship

The Panthers basketball team just finished what some are calling ‘one of the most impressive three-year runs in state history.’ On Saturday, March 13, the team defeated Austin Westlake to bring home the State Championship trophy for the second time in three years.

Following the win, Coach David Peavy and his players held up three fingers in photos to signify the possible third championship they could have won last year had COVID not forced the University Scholastic League to cancel the remainder of the state tournament.

After the game, Coach Peavy said, “We’ve pushed ourselves to the limit and I just felt like when we get down in close games, in pressure situations, these guys are ready for it.”

“They’re going to be champions for the rest of their lives.”

Duncanville’s boys basketball teams have won a total of five state championships.
