District Hires New Chief of Special Initiatives

Connie Wallace joins Duncanville ISD as Chief of Special Initiatives and Collaborative Communities. In her role, Mrs. Wallace will manage special projects, facilitate key initiatives and support the superintendent by assisting with Board of Trustees communication, overseeing the board’s policy development and offering policy interpretation and advice.

In her two decades of education experience, Mrs. Wallace was selected as one of nine principals from more than 220 campus principals to become a Principal of the Year finalist in Dallas ISD. During her tenure with Dallas ISD, she served as the interim Director of the Dallas ISD Leadership Academy and was responsible for overseeing campus administrator professional development and establishing a pipeline of effective principals impacting more than 156,000 students.  

Most recently, Mrs. Wallace served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction in Arlington ISD where she was responsible for K-12 teaching and learning for the four core content areas. Early in her career, Mrs. Wallace worked as a teacher in Duncanville ISD from 1999 to 2001.

Mrs. Wallace said she is dedicated to ensuring every classroom has a caring, competent and engaging teacher and every campus has an effective leader.

Mrs. Wallace earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Houston - Clear Lake.
