Shayla Pratt moves to a new leadership position within the district as Director of Counseling. She previously served as an assistant principal at Duncanville High School.
While at Duncanville High School, Ms. Pratt implemented a school-wide after school credit recovery program for more than 1,000 students that helped them regain credits needed to advance to the next grade level or graduate.
“I am looking forward to collaborating with stakeholders to continue the work of ensuring our students’ social-emotional needs are met,” Ms. Pratt said. “I am also excited about ensuring our students graduate with the tools they need to be successful with their postsecondary plans whether that be attending college, starting their career or serving in the military.”
Ms. Pratt received her Bachelor of Human Development and Family Science from Oklahoma State University. She earned her Master of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University and holds a principal certification.
