Duncanville ISD proudly introduces the inaugural participants in its Aspiring Principals Program (APP)—an elite, highly selective cohort aimed at cultivating the next generation of exceptional campus leaders. This innovative program is designed to equip participants with the tools, strategies, and confidence needed to lead their campuses with vision and impact.
The APP is not just another leadership development initiative; it is a transformative journey. Fellows accepted into the program undergo an intensive, hands-on learning experience tailored to develop the core competencies of effective school leadership. By immersing themselves in a combination of theoretical and practical training, these future principals will gain the skills required to navigate the complexities of modern education.
The program’s structure includes on-the-job stretch assignments that challenge participants to step outside their comfort zones, fostering creative problem-solving and resilience. Through targeted coaching sessions, Fellows will receive personalized feedback and guidance to sharpen their leadership styles. Regular progress monitoring with supervising principals ensures that participants stay aligned with their development goals, while campus shadow visits provide invaluable insights into the daily life of an experienced principal.
In addition to these opportunities, Fellows will engage in cohort learning sessions, which foster collaboration and peer support. These sessions create a dynamic learning environment where Fellows can share experiences, discuss challenges, and brainstorm innovative solutions, building a network of like-minded educational leaders.
Through their commitment to this rigorous program, Arentina Bannister (Reed Middle School), Evelyn Carter (Duncanville High School), and Shequita Miller (Hastings Elementary) are embracing the challenge to #LEADwithIMPACT and take their first steps toward shaping the future of Duncanville ISD. With their dedication and the robust support of the APP, these aspiring principals are poised to make a lasting difference in the lives of students, staff, and the community.
