A total of 26 Duncanville High School students in the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) are preparing for the Teach Tomorrow Summit State competition.
Out of the 43 TAFE students who competed in the regional competition, 26 are advancing to State, which will be virtual this year due to safety procedures for the ongoing pandemic. The regional competition was also virtual. TAFE sponsor Javaun Price said despite the unique circumstances, her students remained focused and still performed well.
“The experience was not what we are used to, due to its virtual format.” Ms. Price said. “Our students still showed up and showed out.”
This year’s State theme is “Oh, the Place You’ll Go with Teaching!” The 26 high school students will compete in the State competition March 4 - 6, 2021. At the virtual competition, students will also have the opportunity to meet university representatives from top schools and earn scholarships.
Please help us congratulate the following students headed to State.
