High School Announces 2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Daniela Castillo Padron is the Class of 2020 Valedictorian.

Julia Bowers is the Class of 2020 Salutatorian.

 

Daniela Castillo Padron is the Class of 2020 Valedictorian.

During her four years at Duncanville High School, Daniela was a star on the varsity tennis team as she qualified for the State Tennis Tournament as a freshman.

“Daniela is an amazing tennis player, and she is so talented on and off the court,” said Varsity Tennis Coach Jordan Jackson. “You would never know that she is the valedictorian or a star tennis player, by the way she treats other and conducts herself. Daniela is very humble, hardworking, and always treats everyone with kindness. She is a very special young lady and she will be missed, but I know she is destined for greatness wherever this journey will take her.”

In addition to her involvement in sports, Daniela was also a member of Youth and Government, Student Council and was secretary for the National Honor Society.

She plans to attend Swarthmore College where she will study Civil Engineering.

Julia Bowers is the Class of 2020 Salutatorian.

 

Julia was a national qualifier all four years in Youth and Government. She was also the National Honor Society President and Senior Class Treasurer.

"She is a young woman of strength, integrity, grace and passion," said NHS sponsor Shaunna Kile. "She lets God lead her and it pours from her soul."

Julia plans to attend Boston College where she will major in biology on the pre-medicine track. Her favorite memory was going to the YAG state conference with her best friends.
