JROTC Comes to Duncanville High in the 2022-2023 School Year

Duncanville ISD now offers Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps or JROTC to Duncanville High School students starting the 2022-2023 school year. The program has not been a part of Duncanville High School's curriculum in the past. Only 100 seats will be available to students from 9th to 12th grade.

A meeting is scheduled for interested students: March 31, 6-7 p.m. at the Duncanville High School Performance Hall. Current 8th graders may attend this meeting if they want to be in the program freshman year.

JROTC will not be a part of the middle school curriculum, but an after-school club will be offered to those students. That club interest meeting will be, on March 29, 6-7 p.m. at Reed Middle School Auditorium.

JROTC is coming to the district after a district-wide survey sent to employees, parents, students, and community members confirmed a desire to implement the program. Through JROTC, learners will build character, develop leadership skills, and expand their opportunities during and after high school.
