New District Police Station Opens for Safety, Community Outreach
Police Station Ribbon Cutting

Duncanville ISD’s new police station is officially open.District leaders invited staff, trustees and members of the community to celebrate the milestone with a ribbon cutting.

The new police station is located at 802 S. Main Street in Duncanville in a renovated building that was once the district’s administration building. The Board of Trustees approved the renovation and repurposed use of the building last year.

Duncanville ISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith said it was clear the district needed its own police department, and now the growing staff has a designated place to work.

“When you think about the increased safety around our schools, the increased constant presence that our police department has in our schools and the improved response time our campus administrators have seen, it’s been a huge success for us.”

The district police department began in 2018 with the hiring of Chief Chavela Hampton and has developed into an agency that employs both sworn officers and non-sworn security staff.
