Thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, another round of federal Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits are available. These benefits are for Texas families with children who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals because of COVID-19.
Duncanville ISD families' eligibility for P-EBT for the 2021-22 school year is contingent on students in the household qualifying for free or reduced meals through the National School Lunch Program. Families who receive aid from SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, federally funded Head Start, or Early Head Start are also eligible. Students who have a foster, migrant, or homeless status are also qualified for P-EBT. To be eligible, families must also report absences due to COVID-19-related illness, exposure, or quarantine to the school district.
Please note that receiving free meals at school does not guarantee a child qualifies for P-EBT. Parents must consider the qualifications mentioned in the previous paragraph.
For complete information regarding P-EBT, please visit the Texas Health and Human Services website, call the P-EBT Call Center at 833-442-1255 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., or refer to the information provided in the links below.
