The Duncanville High School boys basketball team heads to San Antonio on Saturday, March 13 to play for the UIL 6A State Championship.
The team advances to the title game after defeating Richardson High School in the State Semifinal on Tuesday, March 9 at Southern Methodist University’s Moody Coliseum. Duncanville dominated the game with tough defense and a final score of 68 to 49. The semifinal matchup followed a tense, hard-fought regional battle last week against Waxahachie – the state’s number one team – with a final score of 70 to 65.
Saturday’s championship game will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio Alamodome against Austin Westlake.
Duncanville won the State Championship in 2019 and the team was on the bus heading to San Antonio last year planning to defend their title when the University Interscholastic League abruptly canceled the remaining tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
FOX Sports Southwest and NFHS Network will combine to televise and webcast the championship game. Click here for more information.
