Dr. Jim Vaszauskas will serve in an interim capacity as Chief Academic Officer with the recent announcement that Dr. Cathy Sewell accepted a position with the Education Service Center Region 11 in Fort Worth as Deputy Executive Director for Instructional Services.
Dr. Vaszauskas retired in 2019 after 39 years in education. He joined Mansfield ISD in 2009 as Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. In 2013, he was named Superintendent in Mansfield ISD and served in that capacity for seven years. During his tenure, he was named the 2017 Superintendent of the Year for Region 11.
Dr. Vaszauskas' previous career experience also includes working as an English teacher, coach and principal. He brings a wealth of experience, wisdom, and a track record of success.
