Medical officials say that the second vaccine dose must be given either two days before or two days after the scheduled due date of 21 days. If they are unable to attend the vaccination clinic at Duncanville High School, they should call Methodist Dallas at 214-933-6200 to schedule an appointment.
We want to thank Methodist Health Systems again for providing this opportunity to our employees and community.
Original Story 3/29/21:
More than 1,000 Duncanville ISD employees and members of the community received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination on Friday.
Methodist Health System turned the west gym at Duncanville High School into a mobile clinic. The hospital system worked with district leadership to bring its first pop-up vaccination clinic to Duncanville ISD.
“As a school district, we have been actively seeking partnerships to make the COVID-19 vaccine available to all of our staff,” said Duncanville ISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith. “We are grateful for the opportunity Methodist Health System is offering to help keep our teachers, staff and others in our community healthy and safe.”
Teachers and other district staff were given first priority to receive the vaccinations. Additional doses were made available to family and members of the community. More than 1,000 people took the opportunity.
“It just really shows that they value the employees in the district to have [Methodist Health System] come out and to be able to have this onsite. We just really appreciate that,” said teacher specialist Natalie Chase.
Representatives from Methodist Health System will return April 16 to administer the required second dose.
