To recognize Coach McNeely’s long-standing legacy, Duncanville ISD is hosting a basketball

showcase bearing his name – the Phil McNeely Classic. During the classic on Saturday, November 13, Coach McNeely will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Duncanville ISD Athletics Department.

During the basketball showcase attendees will see former players, including some who are now coaching boys high school basketball teams. Woodrow Wilson Head Coach Corey Johnson and Rock Hill Head Coach Shawn Williams are both former players of Coach McNeely and their teams will play Saturday.

The winning stats on the court offer a peak into Coach McNeely’s exceptional career. What the average person does not see, but his players know, is Coach McNeely cares about the players more than the championships. He believes in showing up for people, and continues to do so regularly.

Saturday’s celebration of Coach McNeely will include family, friends and longtime supporters excited to recognize Coach McNeely’s continued service, dedication to students and commitment to the community. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented center court at approximately 7 p.m. during the Phil McNeely Classic
