Ensuring your child has the right school supplies is essential for a successful school year! Having the necessary materials helps students stay organized, engaged, and ready to learn each day. To make the process easier for families, we have compiled a list of required supplies for each grade level.

Supply lists are available here, on our website, and can be accessed anytime. We recommend checking the list before shopping to ensure your child has everything they need for the upcoming school year. Some common items include notebooks, pencils, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, and folders. Additional supplies specific to each grade may also be required. 

Backpack Policy

Duncanville ISD requires all students to use clear or mesh backpacks as part of our ongoing commitment to campus safety. This policy helps ensure a secure learning environment for all students and staff. Backpacks must be fully transparent or made of mesh material to comply with district guidelines. Please check with your child’s school for any additional backpack regulations.

Students may carry a small non-clear bag to hold personal items, such as money, cell phones, and hygiene products. Parents are required and responsible for providing their student(s) a clear backpack. The district will not provide clear backpacks. 

By coming to school prepared with the right supplies and following district policies, students can focus on learning and making the most of their educational experience. Thank you for your support in setting them up for success!
