Three Duncanville High School students created artwork that qualified for the Texas Art Education Association state competition.

After receiving the highest awards at the regional contest, senior Alejandra Terrones, junior Ariana Kimball and freshman, Carolina
Fletcher will submit their work to be judged at the State Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) in April.

The group of art students from Duncanville High School received 42 awards overall. From the 1,251 works submitted at Regional
VASE, 109 advanced to State.

“We are very proud of all who participated,” said DHS Art Teacher Annette Valenzuela. “They represented Duncanville very well.”
