A crowd of students, administrators, cheerleaders, members of the Duncanville Marching Band drumline and a police escort sent the Panthers basketball team on their way to San Antonio Thursday morning as they make a run to bring home the championship trophy for the first time in more than a decade.

“The kids have been working really hard since I got here last April and they deserve this,” said Head Coach David Peavy.

The team plays Galena Park North Shore Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Friday's game will be streamed live on the NFHS Network. For subscription information click here.

The 6A State Championship on Saturday will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Southwest Plus at 8:30 p.m. and will also stream on the Fox Sports digital platforms.

The Panthers have been to the state tournament six times previously. They won the State Championship in 1991, 1999 and 2007.
